Installation and Maintenance

Installation
  • Excavate a trench to the required depth and gradient.
  • Pour a level concrete bedding or prepare a compacted granular base.
  • Assemble and place the HDPE channel sections onto the prepared base.
  • Pour structural concrete haunching to support the channel sides.
  • Once the concrete has cured,place the steel grating panels onto the supporting ledger of the HDPE channel.
  • The surrounding pavement or floor finish is completed up to the edge of the grating.
Maintenance
  • Regularly sweep or use a vacuum truck to remove debris accumulated on the grating.
  • Periodically lift grating panels (if removable) to flush out sediment from the HDPE channel with water.
  • Inspect grating for any damage or excessive corrosion. Galvanized grating can be touch-up painted; stainless steel typically requires only cleaning.
  • Check the integrity of the channel and supporting concrete periodically.
